Prerequisites

An active PeSofts workspace, an admin role, and at least one question ready to import.

A step-by-step walkthrough of creating, configuring and publishing your first online exam in PeSofts — from a blank workspace to a live, proctored test.

Overview

This guide walks you through the four core steps every PeSofts administrator takes when setting up an exam: defining the exam shell, attaching questions, inviting candidates and enabling proctoring. By the end you'll have a fully monitored assessment ready to publish.

Prerequisites

  • An active PeSofts workspace, an admin role, and at least one question ready to import.

Step 1 — Create an exam

Navigate to ExamsNew Exam. Give it a title, choose the exam type (MCQ, Subjective, Coding or Mixed), and set the total duration. Sectioning and per-section timing can be added later.

Step 2 — Add questions

You can pull questions from an existing bank or import a CSV. Use tags and difficulty markers so randomization respects the intended blueprint.

section: Aptitude
easy: 6
medium: 8
hard: 4

Step 3 — Invite candidates

Navigate to the Candidates tab. Choose Bulk Import to upload a list of candidate emails or select individual test-takers from your system groups. Candidates receive automated invitations with custom access tokens.

Step 4 — Enable proctoring

Under Proctoring Settings, toggle AI Automated Proctoring to active. Enable browser lock controls, face verification, and window violation counters to prevent unauthorized browsing during the exam.

Publishing & monitoring

Once configured, click Publish. You can view live proctoring logs and candidate progress from the administrator dashboard dashboard.
